Birmingham's Collat Jewish Family Services will hold a welcome breakfast for Gulf Coast evacuees that are now in the Birmingham area, as well as families that are hosting them.
It is estimated that as many as 200 Jews have made their way to Birmingham, with more newcomers possible. Shalom Birmingham wants to welcome them into the community, even if they do not need additional assistance from CJFS.
The gathering will be at the Levite Jewish Community Center on Thursday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
