On October 16, hundreds of walkers representing a wide cross-section of the Birmingham area took to the streets of downtown to show community unity and raise money for the local region of the National Conference for Community and Justice.

Many in the Jewish community took part in the three mile walk, including groups from Temple Beth-El, Temple Emanu-El, and Hadassah.

Robert Aland, president of the Birmingham Region of First American Bank, chaired the event and with his daughter, Regan, cut the ribbon starting the walk.

Funds raised by the walk help local programs, including Anytown Alabama, the Interfaith Leadership Institute, and Heritage Panel.
