These pictures were taken just before Rosh Hashanah. DSJV will have a report on services in New Orleans and Biloxi shortly.

Northshore Jewish Congregation, Mandeville:

Bags of insulation and ceiling material outside Northshore Jewish
Congregation

Classrooms by the sanctuary were converted into overflow rooms for
anticipated Rosh Hashanah crowds

Dehumidifiers continued to work on the building. The hurricanes caused leaks in sections of the roof, and the congregation held Shabbat services outdoors until the building was deemed safe.

Shir Chadash, Metairie:

The chapel was rushed into shape for Rosh Hashanah services

The sanctuary had about 6 inches of water during the hurricane

Shir Chadash had just started a major renovation of its building. After the hurricane, workers who had been doing the renovation instead started on the cleanup
